Alaba Bizman Hacked To Death

A businessman and an importer of musical equipment at Alaba International Market, Ojo area of Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, has been hacked to death in his house by two assailants.
Mr. Chidi Ejimudo, 38, was hacked to death at midnight recently in his  apartment at Lion Gate, Isashi area of Ojo.
How the assailants gained entrance into the building is still a mystery.
P.M.NEWS gathered that Ejimudo was hacked 19 times on the head and chest and he died before he could be rushed to the hospital.
He was brutally killed in the presence of his wife, Vivian Ejimudo and the house girl, Tochi Obi, 13.

The autopsy carried out on the deceased by Dr. U.V. Okeke of the Department of Pathology and Forensic, Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH, revealed that  Chidi had 19 deep cuts on his body, disruption of the lungs and heart and a sharp force trauma, which led to his death.
Considering  the manner he was murdered, members of Ejimudo’s family have suspected that the killers of their brother were in the apartment long before they went to bed that night.
They said they suspect that the murder of their brother was planned by insiders, adding that the house consists of six rooms and a fierce dog guards the compound at night.
Senior brother of Chidi, Chief John Ejimudo, wondered why the dog was locked up in the security house the night the attack was carried out.
He said if the dog was not locked up it could have easily overpowered the murderers who were not armed with guns.
According to him, “I was in my house sleeping when I heard a knock around 2.30 a.m. and I inquired who was there and my brother’s wife, Vivian, shouted from outside that my brother has been attacked by two men with cutlasses and that they injured him.
“ I asked her why she didn’t call me on phone but she said the battery on her phone was flat.
“I rushed to the house and right from the staircase, I saw blood everywhere. When I got to his room, I saw him lying on the ground drenched  in his blood and I turned him round, called his name and he did not answer. We rushed him to a private hospital in the area where I was told that he was already dead.”
John said the matter was reported at the Isashi Police Station, but that the police were too slow in carrying out investigation of the murder.
He said the case was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti, adding that while the house girl was initially detained, the father of Vivian, Ezinwa Okonkwo, took Vivian away to his house.
According to him, when Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP, Bola from SCID came to the house with his men “and saw that the doors or burglary proof were not broken and that the dog was locked up in the cage when  the attack took place, he suspected that the killers may have been hiding inside the house before the family went to bed that night and that the killing may be the work of an insider.”
John said that was when Vivian, his brother’s wife, was arrested as the prime suspect by the police along with the house girl and were taken to Panti.
Vivian was released two days later after she got sureties to facilitate her bail. John said: “we suspect that our brother was murdered by an insider. We wonder why his wife did not shout for help when the killers came into the house as they were not holding guns or even assist him fight for his life.”
The house girl, Tochi, gave a vivid account of how her master was hacked to death with a machete by the assailants.
According to her, she was sleeping in her room that night when she heard some people talking in hushed tone behind her room inside the house.
“They entered my room and I saw them holding long knife, the type used by butchers. They woke me up and warned me not to shout. They asked me how many people lived in the house and I told them three people and they asked me who was sleeping with my master and I said his wife.
“They asked me to go and knock at their door and tell my master that I had stomach problem and I went there and knocked. My master inquired from inside what the problem was and I told him I had serious stomach problem and he opened the door and saw me with a man with a machete, while the other one was hiding by the door.
“My master tried to close the door and lock it back but the man with me was using the cutlass to cut his hand. That was when the second man came to help his colleague and they started to machete him while I ran into the room and saw my master’s wife by the wardrobe,” she explained.
Tochi added:  “They were asking for money and my master said he had no money and they took his phones and kicked him with their shoes. My mistress begged them to allow her go into the neighbourhood to get some money for them but they refused. They asked her for gold and they took what she had and slapped her. They told my mistress that she should come and visit them at a place I could not remember in case she wanted to see them, before they went away.”
When P.M.NEWS visited Isashi Police Station, the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, who was in mufti refused to comment on the issue, saying he had no such powers to do so. Our correspondent could not also reach Vivian, the wife of the deceased, for comment as she had been taken away by her father.

The brutal killing of Delsu student, Ify Gabriel Nwainokpor & friend

On Sunday 21st July 2013, Ify Gabriel Nwainokpor and his friend Kasim were attacked and beaten to death by a mob at the Ajara area of Badagry on the ground that their faces looked strange in the neighborhood, this is according to the people who posted the video of their lynching on Youtube.

They claim that the Nigerian Police (Badagry division) watched as these men were hacked to death before their prime. They are crying out to the world for justice and brought the barbaric incident to the attention of the media. Another lynching? This is unbelievable.

I would not advise it but if you have the heart to watch, then find the mob video HERE...and find a comprehensive report of the sad incident from Punch after the cut...

Punchng.com reports:
Policemen attached to the Badagry Police Division, Lagos State, and some hoodlums have been accused of killing a 25-year-old undergraduate of Delta State University, Ifechukwude Nwainokpor, and his friend, identified simply as Kazeem.
An eight-minute video clip of the gruesome killing, which was made available to PUNCH Metro, showed the two victims handcuffed together. They were covered in their own blood and beaten to death with sticks. Tyres were also put round their necks.
An irate mob could be seen in the video, shouting, “die, die, burn them, burn them.”
At some points in the video, a policeman was seen interviewing the boys. He asked who sent them (victims) to rob the area, an accusation they denied. One of the hoodlums, holding a sharp object attempted to cut off the private part of one of the victims.
Nwainokpor could be seen pleading with the hoodlums and policemen to spare his life, saying he could identify himself if given a chance. His plea, however, fell on deaf ears.
Our correspondent, who visited the family of Nwainokpor  on Tuesday, learnt that the lynching took place around 3pm on July 21, 2013 in Ajara area of Badagry, a community not far from Nwainokpor’s family home.
His father, Samuel, told PUNCH Metro that his son was arrested while passing through a street in the area  but a misunderstanding later ensued and the hoodlums pounced on  him  and Kazeem.
He added that  Nwainokpor, who was nicknamed Ify, was a final year student of Geology and Mining.
He said, “On that particular day, I was in Ghana when I received a telephone call  that I should come immediately. My wife was in Delta State taking care of her mother.
“When I arrived two days later, my relatives and the caretaker of my house told me that my son was killed in the Ajara area along with his friend. I was devastated.
“I got my son a temporary job with a Customs licensed agent since their lecturers were on strike.  He worked everyday except on Sundays when he visited his friends. On that day, he went to see Kazeem and they were strolling around Ajara.”
Samuel said because there had been a robbery in Ajara four days earlier, some of the residents were on the lookout for strange faces.
He added that when the youth  saw two unknown young men, they  accosted them and an argument ensued.
He said the youth called the head of the vigilante group in the area, one Asiribo.
He said, “Asiribo came to the scene with a locally-made pistol and handcuffs. He handcuffed my son and his friend before asking them questions.
“Later, it was decided that the boys be taken to the Baale, Agano Oniyon of Agamade Ajara. But as they were going, Asiribo, while trying to return his gun into its pouch, mistakenly shot himself in the stomach and died.”
Samuel said Asiribo’s death infuriated the youth, who  blamed the boys for  his  death.
“The mob picked up sticks and beat them to death. Policemen were there,” he  said.
Holding back tears, the retired immigration officer added  that the police treated the matter as a robbery case. Beating  his chest,  Samuel said there was no way his son would have been involved in  armed robbery.
He said, “I have been living in Badagry since 1982. I have only two children and Ifechukwude  is the  first. Ironically, he was born in that same area where he was killed.
“I have lived in this area without any trouble and  the residents  can tell you that my sons are good  boys.”
Nwainokpor’s boss, Aloysius Onyenibedi, described him as an honest and hardworking person.
“I trusted him to the extent that I used to keep a lot of money with him. He was good to my children and was honest,” he said.
The Nwainokpor family berated the Divisional Police Officer, Badagry Police Station,  Dankoli Mohammed, for the manner he treated the case.
Samuel said when he approached the DPO, he was told that his son was killed at midnight for armed robbery.
He said, “When the policemen came to take the corpses, guns were planted on them. Policemen at the station told the DPO that they were robbers. Their corpses were taken along with that Asiribo to Badagry General Hospital’s mortuary.
“The following morning, the DPO released Asiribo’s corpse for burial without investigation. My relatives went to the station and after showing the DPO the video, the matter was transferred to the Area K Command.
“At Present, Asiribo’s son has fled, while the DPO has been unable to identify the policemen who were present at the scene when my son  and his friend were killed.”
PUNCH Metro however learnt that through the video, some people had arrested one of the perpetrators. The suspect had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department,  Panti, Yaba.
The spokesperson for the state police command, Ngozi Braide, said, “The incident is quite pathetic. Even if they were armed robbers, no one has the right to take the life of another. Why then do we have the police and the judiciary? The Nigerian police as well as the law condemn mob action and jungle justice. The commissioner of police has set up a high- powered investigation body to investigate the matter.”

Global News publishers arrested over libelious story about Tunde Folawiyo and Ifeoma Williams

The publishers of Global News were yesterday arrested in connection with a scandalous story involving Tunde Folawiyo, the business magnate and entrepreneur.
Segun Ogunbunmi of Global News and Kunle Rasheed of Global Excellence were arrested after publishing a story in Global News which alleged that Mr. Folawiyo had been involved in an affair with former beauty queen Ifeoma Williams. (Screen shot of the story above)
Mr. Folawiyo had responded, through his solicitors, demanding a full retraction of the story as well as a public apology. In a letter, Folawiyo’s solicitors gave Mr. Ogunbunmi a maximum of 7 days to issue a satisfactory apology.

The letter, dated 12th July, warned that Mr. Ogunbunmi was liable to face criminal charges based on the defamatory nature of the Global News article. Following Mr. Ogunbunmi’s failure to retract the story, the matter was reported to AIG of Zone 2 as well as Umar Manko, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police in another letter.
The letter stated in part:
"I sincerely urge you to use your good offices to investigate the actions of Mr. Ogunbunmi and his organisation with a view to prosecuting them for criminal libel,"

"I fear that the very fabric of our society will continue to decay if 'journalists' such as this are allowed to publish defamatory statements recklessly and with impunity against well meaning Nigerians."
The arrest of Messrs Ogunbunmi and Rasheed was a direct result of an investigation of criminal libel as investigated by the police. It was also instructive to note that the pair had failed to respond to several invitations by the police and were consequently detained in Zone 2 police headquarters. Mr. Rasheed has since been released while Mr. Ogunbunmi remains in police custody.

Happy New Month Everyone!!

Some days you will find it so difficult to get out of your bed because of how pointless everything  around you seems. Some days you won't want to open your eyes because you don't want to once again come face to face with yet another failure in your life. Sometimes you wonder what you are doing wrong, why you're not where you want to be, why you haven't risen at all when you've worked so hard, or why you've fallen so hard when you've done your best. Sometimes it feels like no matter how hard you try, the life that you want will always be out of reach. Then some of us say phuck it I'm done!

It's too hard and too painful to dream so you're done fighting. But you can't be done. You can't give up now. You see, sometimes God delays his blessings to us for a reason. Maybe He thinks you're not ready to handle all that power. May He's just taking His time, waiting, watching, to see how far you're willing to go, to see how much you're willing to sacrifice. Maybe your appointed time has not come yet. But it will definitely come. Just because it hasn't happened for you yet doesn't mean it never will. You just have to keep fighting until it's your turn to receive God's immense blessings.

I'm not better than you. I don't work harder than you. If He can bless me, He can bless you.
Just keep looking ahead and keep believing. You deserve it. IT will come to you...eventually.

Happy New Month
