An official statement from Mavin Records regarding Wande Coal's exit from the label...

It is with deep regret that we officially announce the departure of recording artist Wande Ojosipe, popularly known as Wande Coal, from Mavin Records due to irreconcilable differences.

Over the past few months, Mavin Records has made a concerted move to consolidate its position in the Nigerian music industry. Mavin has pursued a renewed ethos to raise its standards of quality and professionalism to a world-class level. Wande’s vision has not aligned with ours and a few months ago all parties mutually agreed that a separation would be the best course of action.

Legal parties on both sides have spent the past six months trying to reach an amicable solution in terms of musical property rights. However the decision by Wande Coal to release ‘Baby Face’ purportedly as his own material is a direct breach of intellectual property law and compelled an immediate clarification on our part.

Both Mavin Records and Wande Coal have enjoyed a remarkable run in the course of their working relationship. It is unfortunate that conflicting priorities contributed to the premature curtailment of a hitherto fruitful accord.

Mavin Records reaffirms its goal to constantly provide high quality music to our fans and introduce new and exciting talent into the industry.

We wish Wande Coal the best of luck in all his future endeavours.

People who know them very well will readily tell you that the lovebirds, who met over five years ago, are live-in-lovers. Enugu state First Lady denies being detained by husband, Gov Chime

Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State on Tuesday night denied subjecting his wife, Mrs. Clara Chime, to house arrest and has vowed to protect her from being exposed to ridicule. Chime made this denial in the presence of some journalists, his wife and her elder brother, Mr. Tony Igwe.

Also present were the governor’s siblings, Mrs. May Oji and Dr. Jide Chime, as well as Mrs. Chime’s neuro-psychiatric doctor, Dr. Aham Agumuo, among a few others. At the interview session, the governor’s wife denied sending any petition to the National Human Rights Commission alleging unlawful detention by her husband.

She also denied hiring the services of Mr. Femi Falana to seek her freedom from an alleged house arrest at the Governor’s Lodge, Enugu. Continue


Falana had claimed in his letter to media houses and the Inspector-General of Police that he was engaged by the governor’s wife to seek her freedom from alleged house arrest.

The state governor, however, stated that it was “so disturbing” for him to speak out publicly about his wife’s health challenges.

He vowed to do all within his power, no matter the personal pains, to protect her from ridicule.
“Well, my wife has some medical challenges and it would be very unkind for me to talk about her condition on the pages of newspapers.

“I have done everything to protect her integrity and I’m not now going to expose her to ridicule because some people want to exploit her situation to drag me into a needless war of words,” Chime said.

Fulani herdsmen kill family of four in early morning attack in Plateau

A family of four was murdered on Tuesday November 5th during an early morning attack on Rantis Village in Garshes District, Barkin-Ladi LGA of Plateau State. The spokesperson of the Special Task Force, STF, on Jos crisis, Salisu Mustapha, confirmed the attack, describing it as dastardly

Mr. Musatapha said, however, that no arrest has been made, but investigations were ongoing. He assured Plateau residents that the suspects would be brought to book. The ugly incident occurred at about 4.a.m when the attackers, suspected to be Fulani herdsmen, invaded the village. According to witnesses, the attackers wore masks and were armed with guns.

TB Joshua's Church Delivers Another Nollywood Actress

While those who say they do not believe in what is happening at the Synagogue are sitting down, others who are not ashamed of their circumstances at present are going out to get their deliverance, daily.

Popular Nollywood actors likes Camilla Mberekpe and recently Jim Iyke were delivered of negative spirits that were tormenting their lives and today they are free from such. The latest to be delivered is actress Nneoma Ukpabi who was suffering overdue ladour after two Caesarian sessions...

I hear that her case was critical in her last pregnancy that the doctor said her placenta was too weak to support the baby. She was thus booked for a third Caesarian session, which is dangerous.

Fortunately for Nneoma, a lady friend brought her the "holy water" from TB Joshua's church, prayed with her and within 15 minutes she started having all the signs of labour, blood and water came out of her body. She was immediately rushed to the same hospital where she delivered a baby girl without stress.

The doctor was shocked beyond words that Nneoma who he had booked for a risky operation actually came back to give birth to the baby at ease. Wow! Glory be to God!!

Outcome of FG & ASUU meeting: FG to give varsities N1.1tn in 5yrs

Very late Monday night November 4th, President Jonathan met with officials of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, over the on-going strike. After the meeting, ASUU officials said they would relay the outcome of the meeting later this week after consulting with other members of their board. The Union has not made an official statement yet but Punch is reporting that a key component of the agreement reached by the parties after the meeting was that the Federal Government would  inject N1.1trillion into public universities in the next five years.

They said the federal government would release N220billion yearly into the sector beginning from 2014. For the outgoing year, the government will only release N100bn and this has been processed.

They also said the strike would be called off anytime next week. Halleluyah!

Jada Pinkett steps out without her wedding ring as Will Smith is caught in cheating scandal

Will Smith is about to be caught in a big cheating scandal with his Focus co-star Margot Robbie (pictured left). Meanwhile his wife of almost sixteen years, Jada Pinkett Smith, attended the Make Equality Reality event in West Hollywood on Monday night without her wedding ring.

Will Smith and his Focus co-star, beauty Margot Robbie, got too close at a New Orleans party last month and their salacious photo booth pictures that were meant to stay private, prove it. According to a bombshell report from Star magazine, the Australian actress nuzzled with Jada Pinkett-Smith‘s hubby behind the curtain of the photo booth, suggestively lifting her shirt and exposing her bra as Will lifted his and pressed his bare chest against her.

“He wasn’t acting like a married man; he gave no signs that he was in a committed relationship,” an eyewitness of the scandalous scene told the magazine.

“When we did our audition together, we had a natural chemistry,” Will previously said of his co-star. “I think it’s going to be a lot of fun.”

After weeks on the New Orleans set together the two got intimately close at the October party in question, the magazine claims.

“Once they pulled the curtain back to take the pictures, they let their inhibitions run wild, laughing, hugging and nuzzling each other in the dark,” the eyewitness said. “Margot directed Will before each pose. First she ordered him to act like a gangster. Then she covered her face with a masquerade mask and leaned into his chest. Next, she asked Will to take a sexy picture with her, as she pulled up her shirt and exposed her lingerie for Will and the camera.

“They were hanging all over each other, laughing like they were a new couple in love,” the source continued. “Will had just gotten done working for the day, so he definitely wasn’t intoxicated in any way — he knew what he was doing.”

The scandalous couple didn’t wait for their photos to be printed and Will’s assistant later materialized and confiscated them, Star says.

“Will and Margot never showed up back on set or attended the night’s festivities with the rest of the crew,” the insider revealed. “After they left the party, they were gone all night.”
