LONDON: Daniel Sturridge had the honour of scoring the first goal of the new Premier League season on Saturday when he put Liverpool ahead against Stoke City.
The England striker drilled a crisp low shot past Stoke goalkeeper Asmir Begovic from just outside the penalty area in the 37th minute of the season’s opening game at Anfield.
